G5 CLIVE- cLIVE Says chILL (D.C. Freestyle) (Prod. by Jonny5)

G5 Clive, a rising Emcee from Washington DC, offers a distinctive design to the ever-evolving hip-hop scene. Influenced by such artists as Nas, Kanye West & Dr. Dre amongst others, G5 delivers music on a parallel plain, with a twist of his truth. G5’s technique is totally unique as he manages to charmingly combine the influences of growing up in the unforgiving inner-city of D.C, with the more new age imaginative influences of artists such as SA-RA and DELTRON 3030. Although he doesn’t rap using the cliché façade of a crack slanging/dope boy, his music is quite addictive...

Rapping since the age of 8, G5 is no stranger to this arena. A true student of the game, refining his craft, Clive began to record at age 17, spawning early classics such as 'The Social Class' mixtape, 'A Bathing tApe' as well as his most recent musical contribution ‘Reign Cheque’ the mixtape/movie which were released in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Having performed at numerous venues, including colleges such as UMD-College-Park, Sarah Lawrence College (NYC) & Virginia Commonwealth University, Clive’s sound continues to broaden its reach.

G5, also heavily motivated by his hometown Washington, DC, plans to affix a new dimension to the Nation's Capitols music landscape. Clive is also sponsored by Ate Clothing Co. (ateclothing.com/shop) which is located in Richmond, VA and can be purchased online and in numerous boutiques. G5, also apart of the revolutionary street-team and hip-hop quartet, 'The Clientele kids' are slated for releases in 2009 and 2010. Clive has also aligned with the Civil Mics Movement music group (myspace.com/civilmics) which has nationwide reach, as well as into Canada (Toronto).
