@DJQuicksilva Named Power 30 DJ by the Source Magazine and Nominated for Two Global Spin Awards
Hanover,
MD (Thursday, October 18th, 2012) - National Ciroc Boy, DTLR DJ, The
Party Kingpin, Global Trotting DJ himself & WKYS Personality DJ
Quicksilva was placed on The Source's "Power 30" for the second year;
Being amongst the top 15 and therefore rating him as the Mid-Atlantic's
#1 DJ. What is the "Power 30"? It's the Top 30 Radio DJs in the Country
who are chosen by market size and their impact via radio, television
& social media.
In
addition to DJ Quicksilva being listed as one of the "Power 30", he was
also nominated by the Global Spin Awards for "Breakthrough DJ of the
Year" & "North East Club DJ of the Year" and is also the only DJ in
the Mid-Atlantic region to be nominated. This year will be the first of
Global Spin Awards and will be held in New York City Nov 19th, Hosted by
Sway. For more information, please visit www.globalspinawards.com.
When
asked about his latest accomplishments, DJ Quicksilva states "It's an
honor & humbling feeling to be named amongst the Top 30 DJs in the
country and be in the Top 15. I always preach hard work, dedication
& consistency because that's what I live by; but when you're
actually recognized for it, it's a blessing. For the Global Spin Awards,
of course I hope & pray I win both categories but even if I don't
I've already won because to be nominated amongst the top DJs on the
planet by some of the top execs and influential people in the world is
an accomplishment to me. That shows at least they all know who I am and
are watching. Also to be the only DJ from the Mid-Atlantic region to be
nominated speaks volume in its self. It's another victory not just for
me but for the area as a whole. It's all of our time to shine!"
MobbFreek: The Quiet Before The Storm
Uncle
Freeky is back to doing what he knows best, the only way of life he
knows how to live and that's TRILL, vowing to stay trilla than you, he
brings the release of his latest project "MOBB FREEK: The Quiet Before
the Storm." Mobb Freek is a collective of some of his favorite Mobb
Deep records done his way, snatching the ever so popular and menacing
production from The Alchemist on Prodigy's " Keep it Thoro" Freeky rides
the drops with the ease and comfort of an artist finding his niche and
perfecting it.
Uncle Freeky is a new artist out of Baltimore continuing his rise
from his first project "TrillMatic" a remake of illmatic, Freeky aka
Yella Jesus picks up where he left off paying homage to another classic
collective that influenced his own music. Living by the statement "the
standard is greatness" Freeky collabs with one of the most poignant
artists of our time in Tupac Shakur and delivers a heart felt ballad
entitled "Never Take Me Alive" the lone original track on this project. Inspired by pain this track is definitely a sure classic that expresses his plight and has depth.

COR STIDAK - "Higher Branches (Stidak-struh-mentals Vol. 2)
http://corstidak.bandcamp.com/ album/higher-branches-stidak- struh-mentals-vol-2
The fifth project from Virginia emcee and beatmaker, Cor Stidak, is his second beatstrumental endeavor. The aptly named "Higher Branches" arrives as the leaves fall and as well sheds any pretentions of being anything other than what it is - a smooth ride on a bumpy road. Standouts include the burly "Ramses I," the sensual vibe of "Noor" and the dreamy groove of "Polarity" to name a few. There are no feats of laptop wizardry or producer parlor tricks. Just grooves, raw vibes and big beats. 9 cool joints to beam the whip to or for a rainy night, too.

UllNevaNo(You'll Never Know) "Safe Travels" feat.Anonamas Prod.by EightSense
As we wait for Baltimore Emcee's and Fredericksburg Va, producer Logic
Marselis "Protocol" project which is due late 2013, UllNeva has blessed
us with some more material that has been way over due. Last year
producer EightSense reached out to UllNevaNo on a possible project and
he wanted to do the whole project within 24 hours, which lead to the two
creating the Album "Not Enough Hours In A Day" with a minor setback
from both parties being so busy musically, the two put the project on
hold and now with the album(which is going to be a free project) that is
finally mixed and mastered, UllNevaNo is letting loose the first single
from the project called "Safe Travels" feat. Soulful vocalist
"Anonamas" this project has a different particular sound that UllNevaNo
is not use to rhyming on, this project has hard boom bap but more of a
spacey flying lotus and Dibia$e approach as far as beat selection goes,
expect for the full free project to drop very soon...enjoy

HARMONY MUZIK RELEASES 'CONFLICT OF INTEREST'
WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 8, 2012) – Hip Hop artist Harmony Muzik (HM) releases her new album, Conflict of Interest via livemixtapes.com. While this is HM’s third project since 2010, it is the artist’s first all-hip hop album. Regional guest features include Tabi Bonney, Kane Mayfield, and Mo Betta, alongside Brooklyn-based emcee, L.A.
Download Here --> Conflict of Interest
After spending most
of her childhood and adolescence involved in the arts, through choir and
musicals, as well as training on the guitar, piano, and violin; HM did
not take the path most would expect after high school. Instead of
enrolling in a fine arts program after graduation, HM left Detroit and
enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.
Following an honorable
discharge as a Corporal in the Marines, HM found herself just on the
outskirts of a thriving music scene, known as the “DMV”
(DC/Maryland/Virginia). Spending most of her first year building and
networking with the region’s DJs, artists, producers, and local industry
tastemakers, HM was ready to get back to her passion and release her
first project, The Masquerade.
As her fan base
continues to grow, those with her from the start have witnessed the
evolution of music from HM. Initially leaning towards R&B and pop
songs, HM has gradually transitioned into one of the region’s top new
rappers. Known
equally for her business, HM has helped organized local record pools,
showcases, tours, and national stages at SXSW and more.

D.Floyd- Angels In The City
D Floyd is back again with a gritty visual that not only captivates
the raw emotion of his lyrics, but gives the listener and viewer a
slight idea of the "the closest to you, will do u" mentality of the DC
area. Over the "The City", D Floyd delivers a powerful message that
can only be rivaled by the original. This is truly a DC classic. P.S.

" Her latest mixtape, Best Yet, is gritty and soulful
and covers a range of topics from girl power to that age-old hip-hop philosophy
of being the illest. With beats by Flying Lotus, Maestro, Dudley Perkins and more,
Best Yet is album quality, but either way, it’s a solid project from a woman
who might just become one of your favs. "

Washington
D.C.'s heavyweight lyricist Uptown XO releases his latest project "The
Color Grey" in conjunction with Mello Music Group and his newly
developed record label Secret Society Music. "The Color Grey", produced
entirely by ABthePro, is undoubtedly the critically acclaimed MC's most
complete and powerful work to date.
The
title "The Color Grey" is XO's reference to his ability to combine
aspects of the genre that have long been viewed in black and white
terms. "The Color Grey" represents the balance that XO strives to bring
in every project, every song, and every verse. Very few people can
speak with the gritty street perspective and insightful intellect that
XO puts forth effortlessly. XO's catalogue up to this point is
unmatched in the DMV and with "The Color Grey" XO has solidified
his position in the forefront of the DMV hip-hop explosion.
