Substantial - Check The Resume (prod. Oddisee)
Substantial’s resume speaks for
itself after more than 10 years releasing music individually, as part of
various stellar collectives, and touring China, Japan, and everywhere
inbetween. Earlier today, Potholes In My Blog debuted “Check My Resume”, a track off his upcoming third solo LP, Home Is Where The Art Is, which finds the MC “from the County where the Prince is a G” bringing you up to speed on his CV.
Team player or soloist, Substantial is getting his voice
heard and spreading his music the globe over. Substantial has a field
day with the knocking, driving beat of “Check My Resume,” courtesy of fellow DMV resident Oddisee. With a dexterous tongue and a relentless flow, Substantial recounts his drive through past accomplishments with QN5, Nujabes, Tonedeff and Marcus D. DJ Jav,
Substantial’s official turntable technician, blesses the track with
timely scratches. Sub’s flow is as determined as his hustle.
Home Is Where The Art Is drops September 4th on Mello Music Group. The album is executive produced by fellow MMG artist Oddisee, adding an extra layer of talent and focus to the project that also features additional production from M-Phazes and Eric Lau among others.

I admit to being quiet in terms of new music but quality still
reigns over quality. Here is even the Soundcloud link so you all can
preview the music before making the selection whether or not to
post. The artwork is courtesy of Brennan Gerald, @DFFRNTWRLD, and is
meant to show the contrast between ancient and modern empires, and
essentially kings while introducing Cayanaten. My last project, Sounds
Of Clarity EP (a joint project with producer King Rich) got Shade45
airplay from DJ Wonder and was nationally recognized.
For those not familiar with who I am, my name is
Cayan, a modern day Shakespeare from Northeast Washington DC. I form the
collective The Dream Team with Nike Nando and Drique London (music on
the WAY) and The Capitals (with RasNeb and Blac). The goal is to create a
new sound from my area while uplifting our kings and queens. I am the

Redhead - "Beautiful"
Fresh from performing as the opening act for Slum Village at The
Fillmore in Washington DC, rising DC rapper Redhead returns to bring a
new track called "Beautiful", and it samples the group Little People.
The record is to be featured on a tentative new EP called Exactly. The EP is due in the winter of 2012.

WASHINGTON – Baltimore hip-hop/electronic collaborative Beyond Modern released a music video this morning to accompany their latest single, “Ride of Your Life [#ROYL].” The upbeat song is the duo’s first single from their highly anticipated The Beyond Modern EP, slated for release early this fall.
Laden with exhilarating visuals and an inventive concept, the video takes the viewer on a thrilling adventure leaving Sur Jazz and Mick Marx stranded on a vacant road, swindled by two seductive women.
“Ride of Your Life” was shot and directed by DC’s very own 1st Impressions Studio, known for B.o.B.’s Strange Clouds Remix (feat. Young Jeezy and T.I.) video as well as an impressive portfolio that includes Wale, Cassidy, J.R. Writer, Fat Trel and more.

Born and raised in Miami, FL, 2EaZy crafted his unique ability to

expressions in his neighborhood. Penning his rhymes at an early age,
