AND KENNETH E. BARNES AT RALLY TO END VIOLENCE

WHAT: Peace Rally to call for Action to End Violence and Crime in Our Community

WHY: LaVar Arrington, business owner, in conjunction with Kenneth E. Barnes, Founder of ROOT, Inc. (www.rootinc.org), will hold a peace rally at the Sideline Restaurant in Largo, Maryland to issue a call to action to the Community to mobilize and unite to find solutions to end the violence and crime that plague our Community and to urge increased police presence at the Boulevard at the Capital Centre. Community leaders, including Prince George's County State's Attorney, Glenn Ivey, other  County Officials, concerned citizens, celebrities and athletes will speak during the rally to address issues and identify solutions. The rally is open to the public.
 
In response to the recent senseless acts of violence that occurred in the parking lot located in front of his establishment, Mr. Arrington issued this statement on behalf of his management team and staff, “The Sideline Management Team and Staff are shocked and saddened by the senseless acts of the gunman or gunmen that resulted in the taking of one person's life and injuries to several others. We extend our sincere condolences to the victims and their families. We pledge to do all in our power to see that the perpetrator is brought tojustice. This Rally is our way of reaching out to the Community to unite with us to find solutions to put an end to the violence and crime that adversely impact upon all of us who live and work in this County."
