Another thoughtful thought from KT. LOL

Looking around for some beats online, i came across this song on a popular mixtape website...

N.o.r.e Feat. Capone, Hell Rell, Uncle Murda, Maino, Tru Life, D.o.e, Ron Browz, Joel Ortiz, Spliffstar, Charlie Hustle & Mike Beck - Rotate (Official Remix)

WTF???????

Immediately i went spiraling into depression for about 5 minutes!!!! lol

The fact that so many artists can come together (no homo) on one track to make music is sooo dope!!!! Then it got me thinkin about the dmv like i normally do. Now i get alot of grief from people because they say im constantly comparing and contrasting the dmv with other areas thats poppin right now, but how can i not when they made it look so easy???  People (the outlets) keep tellin us (the artists) how different this area is from other areas and we cant do the samething....BULLSHIT!!!!!

Now this got me wondering, there are 12 artists on this one song....can yall ever see this many artists from the area on one song???? And not just a bunch of no name, poor quality production! Im talking "HEAVY" times 3!!!!!

I mean im always wit it, lol....but seriously i gets busy, but who would YOU wanna see on a track of this magnitude together????

It's not as impossible as it used to be. From what I've seen it been a little more willingness to collaborate on tracks in this area.

Once it gets past 4-5 rappers on one song, imo it gets a little silly (i.e. Draped Out remix, Game's One Blood remix with like 17 rappers on it)

As far as who I'd want to see? I ain't tellin.

KT what's good homie, ALL HE DO IS RAP!

To be honest thats what I feel like DC is missing. I was born and raised in the DMV but I live in Miami now. The support artists have for each other here is ridiculous. There's so much support for artists down here that the majority of them make decent bread without even getting national play. You could be fooled and think half of the artists down here are international celebrities. The artists, DJs, and locals show mad love.

I always felt like Wale really summed up DC in the last verse of Nike boots. I ain't hatin at all. I love DC and would love to see this go on back home. I feel things are on a good path in the DMV. Everyone just needs to keep grinding, puttin in work, and supporting. The rest of the world will catch on. I got ppl in the 305 bumpin gogo hard!

@ tork

just the idea of that drape out remix and that one blood joint gets me all fired up....and its not necessarily the size of the track i see when i listen to it, its the togetherness of a bunch of artists who took the time out of their busy days (cuz im sure they had alot of other things they coulda been doing) to make these type of tracks work!!! AND WHAT U MEAN U AINT TELLIN??? LOL

@ J-$crilla

imma have to check that track out (with an unbiased ear)...i have to admit...im not a big fan of this new school hip hop cliche'!!!

@ Mr.MartinezBodega

thats what im saying...its not as difficult as people make it out to be....all u need is a little selflessness for a "bigger than one artist" experiment!!! but it seems like no one is willing to be the 1st to do it unless they think someone "important" will be on it as well.

i think niggas be scared honestly...ive done verses for numerous DMV "posse" cuts that hit a wall at some point for whatever reason and have tried to put a couple together myself but dudes dont get verses back to me

@ Mag:

i've seen people attempt this before as well....i think one of the main problems i have is the quality. Not everybody production quality is A+....hell, even B- for that matter...this can go back to one of those situations where this could be the perfect song for maybe 2 or 3 sessions at one studio to assure vocal symmetry..put it couldnt be one artist's song due to favortism in artist selection and not the best of the best...IT WOULD BE PERFECT TO SEE A MIXTAPE DJ TO HOST IT....(see previous FTDMVO post...lol)

Yea KT I feel you...I dont know why it has never happened in our area but anytime [and anytime in the future] I have been approached with the idea or proposal to hop on a big posse joint I accept. So if ever you get it together to do one or anyone for that matter I'm down if an invitation is extended!
