Glad to see this and all, but I can't help but wonder how the "label" concept is gonna pan out in the future. I think they (labels) are definitely still relevant, but w/ the advent of so many home acts, people don't necessarily look for outside help to get their music out. More importantly, it seems like the proverbial "money pie" is getting smaller and smaller, what with illegal downloads/myriad new artists/etc...so people don't have the incentive to share their profits w/ an outside body if they don't have to.
All that said, I'm happy to see this area organizing into national ventures.
I think having Raheem DeVaughn behind this label really gives it the potential. It's a tough market. So many people are going this route, but it will be nice to see a big name record label come out of the DMV.

I gotta agree in a way with Joe E. This woulda been a great thing in 2003-5.
But you never know though. Raheem is a successful artist and can get some of his acts on some of his shows. Sky's the limit.
Shouldnt be on a label when your ceo is still a artist shit dont work son.
Radio Guy,
I need you on my team. Example:
Overok: "We've got a deal on the table that might net us 30K in promo"
Radio Guy: "I buy my cereal with that money"
Overok: "But"
Radio Guy: "It won't work Overok, give it up"
Overok: "Then what should I do?"
Radio Guy: "Get a job at Barnes and Noble, read up on the industry and come back when you are ready"
Radio has a point Artist that are not in a good position and still striving for stardom should not sign other artist. Huge conflict of interest.
