WALE....PUTS ON FOR THE CITY! WELL SOMEWHAT!

I WISH THIS STORY COULD HAVE BEEN BOUT A DMV RAPPER BUT....HEY!

Mark Ronson & Jay-Z To Produce Young Chris Debut, State Property & Wale
Collabos On The Way:

Jay-Z and Mark Ronson will executive produce the first solo album from Young Chris, Now Or Never, according to the Young Gunna in an interview
with XXLMag.com last night (May 19).

"The distribution is gonna be either through Roc Nation of Interscope," Chris told XXL. "We're weighing out our options right now but it's a
good look however it comes out." The Philly MC expects a deal to be signed "any day now."

Though an the album won't be released until the top of the next year, Chris will drop a Mark Ronson-produced buzz single, "Suga Suga,"featuring UK girl group, Sugababes, whom Hov recently inked to Roc
Nation.

The relationship between Hov and Chris dates back to the Roc dynasty but Ronson muse Wale was the one to build the relationship between Chris and
the British super producer's production label, Allido Records. "One thing about me and Wale is there's no egos -we're like brothers from
another," he said. "Basically, one day, Wale just called me like, "Yo, I'ma holla at Rich [Klienan] and Mark [Ronson] and let them know they
need to look at you- not sayin' that you can't get a deal but they need to do something with you before somebody else grabs you.' I went over to Allido and once we figured out I was free - no attachments and basically
ready to go - we just been working. Mark's been giving me records, and me and Wale been touring and throwing records together - just building
our relationship just so when the deal gets done, everything is a go."

The immediate result will be a mixtape from the two, entitled The Odd Couple. "My man went to school - he did the school thing. That's my man, love him to death. And me, I was in the streets before the rap thing so we just basically called it The Odd Couple. We're alike but we're totally different," he said of the collaboration with Wale.

But first, Chris's next move will be the feature-heavy mixtape The Network, featuring the likes of Bun B, Wale, J. Cole, and if scheduling
works out, Drake as well.

As for his original partners-in-rhyme, State Property, rumors have been abound that a deal is in the works to bring the collective - the entire
original squad in fact-to Roc Nation.

"Anything is possible," said Young Chris, remaining cryptic about the speculation. "I don't wanna speak too much on that. It shouldn't be a
problem getting back together as long as there's a proper offer for us."

I think Wale is "overlooking" the dmv because a lot of people in the dmv have a lot of work to do. A large portion of our artists are on some fake it till you make it celebrity bullshit when the truth of the matter is the quality of work put out in our scene is barely up to par. Everything from the graphic design to the press photos artists get (if I see one more rapper standing up against a brick wall....) It all looks really low budget from an industry perspective and that's exactly what they don't want. No one's going to listen to your mixtape is if it looks like the cover was thrown together on MSpaint. People need to step up everything they're doing as artists to market themselves then maybe he'll be more apt to tap Ronson on the shoulder and hand him your mixtape. And above all, people need to start being original! Look at cudi, he's a decent rapper with a new sound but his new sound is what's getting him all the recognition.

All I see is a person in a position to help others. An if presented with the right meterial has the willingness to help. Ive seen WALE upload songs from S.E. SLIM & KT on HIPHOPGAME.com tell people in interviews about X.O. and ICEHTEVILLIAN. Talks with getting UCB a record deal, meanwhile gettin them show money. I see someone ready to help out artist who are ready an in the words of YOUNG CHRIS "Searching for an outlet"

P.S. nobody should be lookin' for a handout either. Just grind and generate a buzz of ya own then maybe just maybe someone will lend a helping hand.

I hope everyone do what they can to help push WALE out there he has alot me he can achieve as far as recognigition himself there are alot of people who still dont know his name yet. He gotta be a success before he can help others. Well more of a success.

That was ignorant!!!! I respect Wale's music and I feel he can help out the DMV, if y'all give him a chance let him put out a album first and be established in the game before you ask for a helping hand!!!

I think people are expecting too much from him too soon. Truth be told (and this is NOT meant to be hate) he hasn't fully gotten HIMSELF on yet.

P.S. Did ya'll read Judah's post bout building relationships? Don't get me wrong I do feel sometimes like dude can do a lil' more 2 help da DMV he claims 2 luv so much but honestly people usually only help those who they know personaly or who really helping them too off da swindle. Think about it...honestly most niggaz who got a sweet job get it cause dey know somebody working there just like all da niggaz who get work 4 da low got it cause dey know somebody wit dat. People only help those who help themselves.

Not that this has anything to do anything but I'd just like to note that Young Chris nicer than anybody in this city...including Wale himself. That's all.

can't hate on this man for making his moves. best of luck and much success to the brotha.....

@ J-Money Man...when Young Chris makes a SOLO hit...then I will agree with that statement. If you can't make a hit...you got nothing. Jay obviously is not messing with him at the moment.

How can he put someone on anyway and is still nowhere himself? Better yet, The DMV isn't even really showing him love or any of its artists for that matter; he gets more love overseas so I'd be damned if I'd be for the hometeam either. But I respect his grind though; when he on top; the area will be too. He does shout the shit out every chance he gets.
