2 of the Lamest, Wackest and/or Dumbest emails I got in 2008

This email is from a young homie that got at me to work with him but he didnt have the bread. So he hit me like 6 months later and I told him my schedule tight the beginning of 09 etc and this is what he had to say about it. The red letters is what set me off about this email and tipped me to how a lot of these artist think.

"Im better than all the people you work with, with the exception of wale (all cockyness aside). Plus you havent even heard me spit.I feel like deserve a chance. I work so hard to prefect all the areas in my career. I feel like working with you is probably the only chance I'll have to get the exposure and respect I need to be successful in the music industry.I want to spit for you one time and then you can tell me if theres a spot for me in 09 or not."

This email is from some producer that probably no has heard of and he claims "Ridin in that Black Joint" by Wale that I produced sounds like his record he did years ago. After I responded and told him that the song was patterned after "Stuntin Like My Daddy" by Lil Wayne ( I just put yall on the a little secret) and that he could take whatever action he wanted and guess what..... I never heard from him again.

I talked to Wale and he pointed me in your direction or suggested I talk to you. The song Riding in that Black Joint sounds just like a song i did a few years back named Ridin' Dirty. Not so much the words or the hook but the beat. He said you were the producer. I have a copy my version if you need a reference but we need to come to some type of resolution.

see, man...this is what i was sayin in that trends post...niggaz ain't did SHIT yet in their careers, but got egos and feel above bammas. then he said that you'd be his only outlet to getting exposure, so that shows he's not a grinder, he's a leecher. sidekick niggaz gotta get their grind up out here, man.

in all fairness tho.....dude might be 14 years old and not know no betta ....we dont know his side of the story....point is errybody dont know the in and outs of networking ...mainly because when we hear this type of thing or see this type of action we disregard it...instead of just telling him " look man you got to do this for yourself man, aint nobody gonna just stop what they doing to help you in the ways you ask". Maybe that would have put homie in the right direction(not saying nobody didnt tell him that). I think at some point we all have said and done some things that we regret in our learning process as individuals. And have hopefully learned from our early experiences and if not have surrounded ourselfs with the people the can instruct in the best ways to get the best results.

ps. i do think what he said was crazy, BUT i dont know not one rapper that doesnt think they are the best at what they do and he was just tryin to sell himself, so he could get the job.

it still was funny tho.

i just honestly think rappers should stop thinking they're the best...cuz nobody really is. what probably should be done (and what i do) is know that i'm not the best, but every track and project i work on, i'm fighting to be the best. keep that hunger and that fight in you. that's just my 2 cents though.
