Mecca (and others)- stop puttin ra in the "female mc box"... she can spit better than most of these bammas with deals..
I Thought the D.M.V. was Delaware,Maryland, and Virgina. Thinking that D.C. is in Maryland I thought is was covered under the MD flag. It seems that the D.M.V. on here is The D.C. metro area and northern VA if that the case then I'll say wale is the artist that I'm checking for the most out of D.C..But if your talking about the other d.m.v. or the whole area then in no certain order
I been thought Judah should do a top DMV list on dis blog wut took U so long pimp? Overall 2008 had too much going on collectively in the DMV for me 2 choose only 5 artists...but here are my preditions for DMV top 5 by this time next year...sorry I'm always thinking ahead of my time.
1 - WALE
2 - Tabi Bonney
3 - RAtheMC
4 - X.O.
5 - E One Letter...his new mixtape gonna surprise ya'll!!!
Don Juan - his work ethic is amazing, he writes hooks with ease..very catchy lyrics, has pop star written all over him. His (not gonna say swag)energy and stage presence is on point.
Kevin Ross - awesome r&b singer..stage presence is great, real professional..i saw him with a live band the band messed up and you couldn't even tell.
Tabi - strong team behind him, grind and networking is off the hook, creative out the box mc, charismatic lyricist.
Wale - has earned the respect of his peers which is vital in my opinion has a tremendous buzz. I believe to quote the OY BOYZ it's on ONE WAY up.
Pro'verb - he is extremely witty, a great lyricist, confident and yet humble as can be. Also a geniunely good person.
AP, Ankh Amen Ra, Oddisee, T.E.F.L.O.N., Wordsmith (look out for the collabo), Benji, Witefolkz, Marky, The Package, Nando, Lady A, Pra'Verb, Judah & a whole shit load of artists...Of course the cats i mentioned earlier too. Lotta dope shit comin out. Competition makes everyone better. Keep the consumer satisfied for the '09 people!
Wale Tabi The Model Citizens Duhh blol Nando Deron not to forget-lyriciss cayan dmg AB Mouse Nova... sorry if i left any tru artists out... big ups to the whole dmv PERIOD!!!!
But wit this 5 im putting up.... Im keeping it ever so gangsta wit yall... but well else would u expect
Wale (cause right now when the world thinks of Hip Hop in DC they think of him so he's representing everyone who's tryna do it)
Don Juan ( Cause as Mo Betta said his work ethic is amazing and he has presence)
Kingpin Slim ( cause the homie definitely has a story to tell)
Marky ( im not familiar with his body of work but he has a well oiled machine behind him in Studio 43 and ive been seeing his name in 08 so itll be ineteresting to see what stems from that )
Ra the MC ( definitely has potential and her grindwork is showing.... and she's traveling in the lane less traveled with her style of music plus she's a female)
And i got labels checking for me so as i so eloquently put it..... Get Meeeeeee!!!
