I Thought the D.M.V. was Delaware,Maryland, and Virgina. Thinking that D.C. is in Maryland I thought is was covered under the MD flag. It seems that the D.M.V. on here is The D.C. metro area and northern VA if that the case then I'll say wale is the artist that I'm checking for the most out of D.C..But if your talking about the other d.m.v. or the whole area then in no certain order

1- Bossman (MD)

2- Rapman Ron G (MD)

3- Ra The MC (DC)

4- CJ Hilton (MD)

5- Fred Knuxx (Delaware)

Don Juan - his work ethic is amazing, he writes hooks with ease..very catchy lyrics, has pop star written all over him. His (not gonna say swag)energy and stage presence is on point.

Kevin Ross - awesome r&b singer..stage presence is great, real professional..i saw him with a live band the band messed up and you couldn't even tell.

Tabi - strong team behind him, grind and networking is off the hook, creative out the box mc, charismatic lyricist.

Wale - has earned the respect of his peers which is vital in my opinion has a tremendous buzz. I believe to quote the OY BOYZ it's on ONE WAY up.

Pro'verb - he is extremely witty, a great lyricist, confident and yet humble as can be. Also a geniunely good person.

Ra the MC ( definitely has potential and her grindwork is showing.... and she's traveling in the lane less traveled with her style of music plus she's a female)

I'm gonna go with:

1. MO Betta(cause im producing the album that he claims he will never release)

2. Don Juan(everything he does is golden)

3. Rated R(my brother showed me some stuff he has been workin on that no one has heard yet...and ill just say he proves the concept of "Advancement Theory". If you dont know what Advancement Theory is i suggest you read up on it)

4. Bad Abbot(he aint a rapper but anything he produces i want to hear immediately)

5. Wale( I couldnt stand slim, anyone will tell you. I thought he was terrible...and he may be. But one night i was rolling off like 3 vitamins with 2 of my baddest redbones and the Nike Boots video came on...and well...i was very, very impressed. And so were my bitches! And I always respect my bitches opinions. So I gave his music another chance and because he is doing so well nationally i want to support everything he is doing cause he lacks hometown support and we need to give him that)

LOL at people naming themselves. The people I'm checking for in 09 (how can I be checking for myself when I am myself?) anyway no order I'm fans of the following and want to see what these ppl do on a bigger stage 1-Don Juan, an animated lyricist who is half Luda half Fab 2-Wale, can rap with whoever and is a good representation of where the game is now, hipster rappers who use they real name and can appeal to an international audience 3-Oy Boyz, before wale I thought they were gonna be first 4-marky- sheila is a smash if they put money behind the visual it's over 5-mo chips-just needs a single and a better style to add to his aura, he's the type you gotta respect if you on a song with him. Kingpin Slim, stamp.....

1. 20 bello---his grind is crazy man, he does alot for artists coming out of the city. hes from the beginnign days of hip hop in DC and is still here making good records.

2 dirty water-the best duo coming out of dc ...as far as lyrics and production. they have a crazy cd catalog and i liek they production. they live show is good too

3 hevewae-he gets better as he goes and i want to see where he takes it

4 simon pheonixxx--i seen him at the hell is for heroes battles in DC and dude was ji aiight...so i youtubed him..and he had some ok freestyles but his mixtape series was pretty decent and didnt sound like other DC artists

5 tabi------he's kinda weird with his music but he's ji different.

1. Gods'Illa

*all bs aside these dudes are over looked---arguably the most lyrically group I have heard out of DMV and the dudes perform well, I think there under the radar until you hear them and they actual brothers, whoa!

2. Dirty Water

*did I say slept on, Cool C & Joe D been doing for the city and stay releasing classic material, I love these dudes man google them

3. Ra the MC

* Shorty spit like a dude, I mean harder than most of yall dudes, I hope she battles someone from your top 5 so she can replace them on ya list

4. Substantial

* Is career stamps the fact that this is a hating ass city, how a bamma from the DMV tour Japan, get MTV run, sourc and XXL coverage but no love from DMV rap sites GTFOH alot of this shyt is bogus and politics, so even tho the DMV hip hop is advancing @ times it seems to be running in place

5. Diggz

* I got a stack that say your #1 bamma for 09 does not want to get on a stage with this dude...no xtra shyt just mic and a beat, homie is lyrical

honorable mentions

*Black Boo, *Killa Cal, *Rock Mikey (gO-gO emcees who should give us rap albums)
