I average 50 submissions daily as far as music for the Blog and just music in general that people want me to listen to. Well when I go thru and listen to it most of it it is what I call "trying to stay relevant records". While this is cool for a while, at some point yall need to do some "real" and/or official records. This taking industry beats etc is getting old and isn't really doing much nowadays. Aren't yall getting tired of it too? Our city needs artist to come with some strong single worthy material. We need BIG and SONIC Quality SINGLES NOW so some of you artist can sneak in right behind the artist that are getting attention.
Thingy # 2
This isn't a young or old thing but I am seeing this a lot amongst the youngins and that is thinking your great before you have accomplished anything. I know as a rapper/beatmaker you have to have a certain arrogance and confidence about yourself but damn. NO ALBUM, NO BUZZ OUTSIDE THE CITY, NO NOTHING and your the GREATEST in the world. We need to humble up (myself included at times but I have various accomplishes so I can stunt a little lol). But Alchemist gave me the best advice when I first started making beats and that was. " Let others say your hot, that's when it counts".
Thingy #3
Over the last year or two I have been coming across several artist that are what I call "struggling artist". These are artist that don't want to do anything but make music. They don't want to work, they don't want to do anything but make music. As a artist I respect that 110% and I also know the job market is dim and tough but my biggest advice is "don't starve yourself for this music". Money makes Money and to achieve your dreams sometimes that takes funding or what business people call "Capital". Some stuff we can get for free but some stuff requires money and being a struggling artist with no job etc..... Makes it tough to fund your own dreams. Get a part time gig....something! Invest and Fund your dreams because in this day in age no one will.

Damn 50 submissions a day...jeez!!! U better than me Ju cause it's seems like it'd be pretty hard 4 me 2 filter through music 4 quality yet still not be too picky where as U don't leave a too many artists out.

Diggin' the post, bruh. I gotta respond and might even repeat some of what you said
1) If anything, I say on mixtapes cats need to pick beats they actually like. I think dudes spit over certain beats because everyone likes it. And at certain points, these dudes don't kill it because they don't feel the track itself. Whether its new or old, crush that shit. LOL. There are quite a few mixtapes with just completely original music. They don't get enough shine but they're floating around out there.
2) Hip hop rarely looks at the humble side of things. Its always been in the musisc to boast and brag about how fuckin' dope you are. Now, its been taken to a completely different level. I think once more people stop telling themselves what they want to believe and start just focusing on their work, they'll become proof of what they are. Its like not studying for a test at all and saying you're going to pass but yet, you never studied or let alone cracked open a book. Alchemist told the truth on that note.
3) Its like would you rather starve to put out an album or buy groceries first to feed yourself so you can be healthy to record later? Its all about priorities and making sure that your being taken care of first. Music shit can come later. Matter of fact, there's programs you can get into that can help with funding your goals like grants and etc. Nothing wrong with working that 9 to 5 ( as long as there's no bullshit the management, LOL). Look at it as another pay check. And use it to invest.
