The Roots Cookout in Philly!

Asher Roth
Public Enemy performing with The Roots
Free LOVE!

I was invited to the The Roots cookout at Penns landing in Philly yesterday and I wasn't going to go because my workload has me on my head right now but I said the hell with it "Let's gooooo" so I hit 95 north only to witness something soooo spectacular! I seen PE perform for the very first time and they rocked with The Roots. Historic and monumental. I also seen Asher Paul Roth perform. All i wanted to see him hit was "La Di Da" and he did and he killed it. Asher is really white yall. He performed in a Bird jersey, cargo shorts and flip flops and to top it off he had a hunters hat on. If that ain't white I don't know what is..... I was impressed with his performance. Cudi hit the stage and I immediately sprinted to the exit of the tent. I didnt not what to curse my ears with "Day and Night". I sooooo tired of that damn record. I had all access so I was backstage and i chopped it up with Big Pooh from Lil Brother, Flavor Flav, Black Thought, Truck North and Dice Raw.

One of the most memorable moments was seeing the DMV's own Lyriciss up there just running a muck. He did a lil impromtu performance with Amanda diva etc.... and that def was a great moment. I was just happy to see a DMV artist a few miles away "grinding" GooD Moment!

On a sidenote: I haven't listened to enough Lyriciss music to state how i feel about him as a artist and I will refresh my ear for him from this point on but I will tell you that this game is all about, timing, opportunity and business. And honestly he put himself in opportunities way yesterday and I respect that 1000%. Good work my dude dont stop.

Overall It was a great time in the City of Brotherly Love. I was probably the only DMV blog out there (even-though I heard Andrian form Mangojuice was out there I didn't see him) so I was the only one LOL. But anyway great experience and networking oppurtunity.

I repped for the DMV, Strange Music and ofcourse MY DAMN Self!

* oh yeah Dj RBI was out there too but I aint see him!
