Washington, DC (August 11, 2009) – Many have now heard of R&B Live DC, but the only way to understand what R&B Live DC is and what it stands for, is to actually experience it. On August 18th R&B Live DC is proud to present Yahzarah! With a power packed July show, the August show will definitely be an event not to miss. Yahzarah, who was born and raised in Washington, DC and attended the fine institute of the Duke Ellington School of Arts is a true gem. She began her career with singing backup for the incomparable Erykah Badu. Since then she has released two albums and has appeared on the Billboard charts. She is now re-introducing herself as Purple St. James and in September 2008, released her latest project, an EP titled “The Prelude”. For more information on Yahzarah or to listen to her music, please visit her MySpace at www.myspace.com/yazarah.

The host of R&B Live DC this month will be Carla Truitt who is also the shows producer. The house band Standard will be joining again and DJ Bee will be spinning. As a treat to the audience of R&B Live DC, Patrice Jones will be warming up the crowd before our opener Brandon Hines takes to the stage. Brandon is no stranger to Washington, DC as he attended Howard University and was even crowned in 2006 as “Mr. Howard University”, but he is now ready to make his mark in the music industry as one of the leading R&B male singers to watch.
