I like it dude can sing and rap and it seems you have to be able to do both these days. i dont like some of the beats but its ok. not one of the best tapes to come out in the dmv this year.
Alright, I do NOT think this joint was as bad as a few of these guys did. I feel his direction w/ the joint. He was doing some kinda old school hip-hop w/ the new school feel. There's things I personally would have done different to make the tape stick out more. I would have had a few more records similar to "Replay". That sounds like NOTHING I've heard here before.
Scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 7.5 or 8
For his 1st joint it sounds a HELL of alot better than alot of OTHER rappers 5th mixtape.
Decent music but not living up to the anticipation and the promotion i have been seeing. A few songs i like and the rest are blah. Good effort tho son keep pushing it.
Yes...being that Wale is the breakthrough rapper here, alot of upcoming artists from here listen to wale as a result tends to start rappin like them unconsciously. That where a producer comes in. He needs to be prodcued thats all...homeboy got talent...not the best mixtape but hes talented. Maybe next time around will be alot stronger and more original flow wise.
I had the honor of rocking the J Dilla tribute with him. Not only did he have skills but he came off real humble and chill in the rehearsal. Stayed on his game as far as the performance. This is first time I've heard a variety of his recorded stuff. Pretty good......
I agree with what Tone P said, but we as listeners also have this habit of measuring artist by the Wale standard. Before Wale we didn't have a standard. We gauged off of what was out there(mainstream). We are all from the same place speaking the same slang. We all talk the same. So you gonna find some sort of similarities between DMV artist.
