DC emcee by way of Charlotte, North Carolina J Scienide, is a true student in the school of emceeing. The
emcee that cites the greats like: Black Thought, Kool G Rap, and Rakim
as influences, began writing rhymes at an early age for himself and
others. He soon realized his knack for witty wordplay and passion for digging obscure samples could lead to a career. The emcee then started entering and winning numerous talent shows, battles and freestyle competitions.
The hungry emcee
partnered up with fellow emcee/producer/friend Untamed to form the group
The Lost n Found Department under his own label Brooklina Records. News
started to spread about the group and their unique sound which helped
them to secure a distribution deal for the label through New York based
company Day by Day Ent. Ran by D.J Fisher (MF Doom) and M.F Grimm.
During his stint at Day by Day, Scienide put in work release a 12’ Treacherous with emcee Supastition. Magazines like Elemental and Urb magazine gave the record glowing reviews as did the European radio and record stores in Japan. Not
one for taking a break Scienide jumped into working with the Atlanta
group Prophetix on their debut album which feat such notables as MF
Doom, Scienz of Life and Stahrr. This also led to working with Prophetix
deejay Jon Doe on his album, which featured the talents of Dudley
Perkins, MED, C Rayz Walz and MF Doom.T.
Scienide is currently working on releasing his solo debut EP The Actual Heat, in January 2013, which will serve as the first in a trilogy of EPs.
