In my opinion longevity comes from being genuine, networking with your local & international peers, & working hard on your own, as well as not forgetting where you come from. Raheem works hard as shit but he still reaches out to WALE, Tabi, & many more DMV rappers, producers, & singers. You can come up fake if U want but I fell like if DC's music scene as a whole wants 2 get the whole world's attention like da south has now unity is the key.
