Judah Gives You...... @JennaCamille - "Up & Down" VIDEO

Jenna Camille is a young singer-songwriter from Accokeek, Maryland whose original music draws inspiration from pop, soul, r&b, funk, jazz, hip-hop and electronica using modern production techniques. Growing up, Jenna received formal training in piano, later majoring in jazz studies at both Michigan State University and the University of the District of Columbia. She is currently working on an album entitled FREE – a celebration of newfound creative liberation in her mid-20s. "Up & Down" is the first single from FREE and as a bonus, she has paired the original single w/ a live, full-band version recorded during a performance at the 9:30 Club in September.

Behind the Song:
"Up & Down was inspired by the romantic chemistry of Dan and Roseanne Connor from the 90's sitcom, Roseanne. I liked the idea of telling the story of a working couple wanting to keep the romance going and I thought it would be an interesting perspective to write from. Typically I feel like songs songs about love sex leave out context and just go straight to talking only about the moment to moments of making love and I wanted to give a little bit more background about what this particular was actually dealing with. There's an episode of Roseanne where Roseanne's character suspects her husband of cheating because he has lacked interest in having sex. The episode somewhat revolves around the monotony of romantic relationships, especially when your ability to explore new interests is hindered because of working or child rearing. I wanted to capture that as closely as possible from the perspective of a woman gently trying to nudge her mate into intimacy. But in the end, it's more than sex. It's also about gently nudging your mate into not giving up on love even when the stress of life begins to weigh heavy on the relationship."
