Phone convo with KB

JU: What's good bro? I didn't get to rap to u much over the inauguration weekend but I know u was in town. What's cracking?

KB: Yeah Bro it was an AMAZING week! Definitely enjoyed the CHANGE. I hosted a few parties. One with Eric TAylor and CLinton Portis at Union Station. CRUCiAL! And you know I had to get it in with Robo and Akil at EyeBar. Tabi was celebrating DOPE and Alizay was doing his thing on the tables as usual!

JU: What's poppin in the atl?

KB: EVERYTHING My Nig! ATL is turning into a real Metropolis. They are now making it Black Hollywood for real. Tyler Perry done opened his studios. Turner (CNN, TnT, etc) is doing alot. The state is even giving all types of tax breaks for people filiming in The A.

JU: I knew I wasn't  gonna make it for the superbowl but we getting SICK out Cali for the gram whams.

KB: Yeah. I'm leaving Tampa now. Shit was CRAZY! I hosted a few joints and even got it in with the Homie, Jason Campbell. GO SKINS 2010! But the Grammy's should be off the chain pimp! I have a couple of meetings for the Kenny Burns Show and I'm looking forward to Bryan Micheal Cox annual Four Seasons Brunch. I think the honoring Jermain Dupri. You and Ra should role wit me.

JU: You know at home a lot of people screaming that hate is the love slogan a lot.

KB: Yeah, I love the music movement we created! I think that slogan really made DC look in the mirror.
The goal was to make Youngens understand that use that energy and turn it into a positive. It's WORKING! Wale and Marky are examples on the 43 side and Tabi is finally breaking through.

JU: You know I'm starting to get a lot of questions thrown my way bout Marky and where he at and all that...

KB: Marky good. We just rapped up the album and about to present it to SRC. We only missing your joints, so HURRY UP NIGGA the meeting is next week!

JU: A few cats hit me trying to see if we signing any new artist but you know I leave that up to you.

KB: We always down to put somebody on... I'm feeling XO from Uptown though. I think we might be doing something together real soon!

JU: The city getting a lot of attention......how u thing its gonna turn out?

KB: It's going to be a really good look! I mean we started this whole DMV thing what, 4yrs ago..and look at it now. THE WORLD IS PAYING ATTENTION!
So as long as we continue to put out quality product, the more doors will open for the talented! I would like to say to these Youngens though, that there are a lot of different ways to be creative. Rappin and Producing isn't for everyone! Even the playing field out and realize your true potential!

i see its always gonna be about who u know in the area!!! We need some new outlets...its like cats are starting to think that 43 is the only way out...get down with someone with 43 and windows just "happen" to open. Its like 46,000 "rappers" in the dmv, and everybody looking at 43 as the rescue wagon. I being seeing dudes in the dmv all the time and its nuffin funnier than to see KB and the whole studio 43 movement's myspace pages as their top friends. LMAO (support is one thing, obsession is another.)

I love how 43 has made it possible for dmv artists to see that they arent trapped in this area....and with that being said, WHERE THE HELL IS THE OTHER DMV HELP???? NO ONE ELSE HAS ANY TYPE OF PULL OR KNOW-HOW????

ARE PEOPLE REALLY JUST THAT SELFISH???? ITS A DAMN SHAME HOW EASY ATLANTA AND FLORIDA MAKES THIS SHIT LOOK.

i have to be honest and say that i think kb is too disconnected from this city. he left for the A and LA and never looked back. and when he does come back, he hosts a party that few people can afford right now (union station joint), which is almost like a slap in the face to the people in the city that helped him get where he is. don't think he's worth posting much about right now...
