D.C. Teacher Arrested After Punching Student In Mouth

Well, here's a story you don't hear everyday: D.C. police arrested a Rock Creek Academy arts teacher after he punched a student in the mouth last night near the school. Joe Coleman, a 38-year-old who resides on the 4000 block of Lane Place NE, was "playing" with a student when the student attempted to grab Coleman's hat. According to police, Coleman then punched the student in the mouth, causing him to lose a tooth.

The incident occurred on the 4400 block of Connecticut Avenue; the school is located at 4401 Connecticut Avenue NW. Police responded to the scene at 7:06 p.m. and arrested Coleman on charges of aggravated assault.

According to its website, Rock Creek Academy "offer[s] full time permanent and interim special education services to students ages 5-22." The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Dredz & K1da, both MC’s & Producers in their own rite, began as
childhood friends in the DMV area. After discovering their mutual
desire for creating music in 2002, along with the inspiration from
Phonte, Big Pooh and 9th Wonder (Little Brother), they decided to get
serious about making their own much needed mark on the music industry.
Developing their own unique sound that continues to set them apart
from other DMV artists, they have been compared to the world renowned
group, A Tribe Called Quest, but with a new school edge. With their
highly anticipated album Open Mic, (totally written and self-produced
by Dredz & K1da) slated to set the DMV on fire, Apollo 13 is expected
to leave the Hip-Hop genre at a standstill. Containing the certified
hits; Fly Sh*t, Swagtastic and Rooftop Dreamz, Open Mic defines the
true definition of real Hip-Hop at its finest. Recently the song
“Rooftop Dreamz” was featured in the DMVs own Kapital Magazine, and

internet radio station outlets. With more achievements to come, Apollo
13 will continue to stay true to their roots in the DMV while gaining

DMV Gives Back 2010 Highlights

On October 25th, Armani Worrell of WorrellChoice Management held a Charity Event at Children's National Medical Center entitled "DMV Gives Back." The charity consisted of Artists and Public Figures in the DMV Area that volunteered their time by helping the children with a day of fun-filled activities and musical performances at the Hospital. This was the first charitable effort from WorrellChoice Management and with it's success there are hopes to make it an annual event.
