@TheRealMalcs, drops a BANGER titled "Call Me Back"
Maryland's frontrunner, Malcs, drops off a hard-hitting trap tune titled
"Call Me Back". He speaks on his life before music, situations with
past relationships, and how school is trash. Malcs is truly an artist
that represents the underground sound and how the grind never stops.
With the spotlight shining mostly on the DC music scene, Malcs fights to
put Maryland on the map as one of the top upcoming artists from the
area. Having done shows alongside Chance The Rapper, Dej Loaf, Post
Malone, Denzel Curry, Reese, Two-9, and many more, Malcs pushes to prove
himself as one of the best upcoming artists in the nation.
OG ILLA - "Theme Song" (As seen on The Source) @HLGNLIFE
OG Illa is a rapper, producer, visual artist and entrepreneur. Born
to a teenage mother who lacked the resources to properly care for her
children, he was placed in foster care at the age of 10. As a foster
child, OG carried from his early upbringing a love for the 90’s rap,
gospel and R&B music that his mom would play constantly around the
house during his childhood. After transitioning from a life of poverty
to one surrounded by prestige in Richmond's affluent West End, the
budding lyricist was inspired to leverage his passion for hip hop toward
building a better life on his own terms.
His
background in hip hop event booking has given OG the opportunity to
perform on-stage with a roster of notable independent artists that
include Riff Raff, Lil B, Ace Hood, Action Bronson, Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, Los, Vinny Cash, Kid Daytona, Jarren Benton, Phil Ade, and Cory Gunz.

@FootwerkBand - "No Hurry" video
Washington D.C.-based indie- hip hop group, FOOTWERK, announce the release of the video for their single "No Hurry" from their debut album, Casual Encounters. The release is teased by videos for singles "Open Oceans" and "Eyes Low".
Casual Encounters pays homage to the band's inception via a craigslist ad that brought the six musicians together. Lead vocalists Kyle and Melissa, share a friend-zone power couple dynamic on stage and the backline is assembled by Teddi (keys), Eric (percussion), Fern (bass) and Josh (drums) infusing their reggae, rock, latin and soul backgrounds. The concept stems from the instant gratification that the internet, texting and social networking offer. The album being built around a 'no strings attached' theory with the live show being billed as “one night stands”.
Footwerk won the DC Area Deli's Reader's Poll for 2014 with the outlet saying that, “Footwerk can't help but be hugely popular and on the cusp of breaking across the nation.” Be sure to check out the two music videos and look out for more from Footwerk coming soon.
