Stupidest event ever! And everybody participating in this event is fraudulent. How dare you try and wrap the whole DMV up in this hot ass mess? You all should be ban from using the name DMV because you put a bad name to the meaning. The whole DMV wasn't fighting? You know who was fighting and unless you plan on publicly snitching on the few people who were, then you are just trying to save the revenue stream of the two people that profited from the event. Either you are going to turn in the names of the people fighting to the Arlington Police Department or this is just another ploy to promote your companies and profit off the DMV name.
ReplyDeleteWho profited from the event? You had a choice to support or not support shit was fucked up son
ReplyDeleteI wish that I could participate in this town hall meeting, but I have a prior engagement already. I REALLY wanna sound off about not only what I witnessed in terms of the actual fighting, but about the nonsense before the fight that exemplifies why the DMV "movement" has struggled to MOVE for so long. Would I say that the idea of the event was stupid? Not at all because the people who work their butts off to make quality art from this area should be celebrated. However, would I agree that the lack of organization, the wanton disregard for common courtesy and respect, and the creation of a club/VIP room atmosphere built around one person trying to outdo and/or impress the next versus a real awards ceremony ultimately made the event stupid and a major fail? Absolutely.
ReplyDeleteits not a sad day for DMV hip hop....its a sad day for black people and black culture.....those involved in creating this spectacle should be ashamed of themselves....what happened was an absolute travesty and a complete embarrassment to the DMV hip hop movement. i salute dre all day and everyone else who organized this event, but its unfortunate that the few bad seeds have to ruin it for the rest of the community. do this ingrates not realize that we are just feeding into all the negative stereotypes about black people and hip hop artists? this only applies to a few within the community who dont even have the self respect to carry themselves like the kings and queens that they should rightfully be.
ReplyDeletedre all day do the dmv awards for himself thats it and thats all.
ReplyDeleteMake your music and push it.
ReplyDeleteCollab with people you connect with.
See if you can find a way to accomplish the goal of your music, whatever it is.
All this "DMV Unity" looks like the Miami Heat locker room and a lot of people are fighting for the Chris Bosh role lol
^^^^ lmao at that heat reference
ReplyDeleteI mean homie said it like I would say it. Push your own music on its own merits, this movement looks good on paper but in practice, it looks like shit.
