lol @ potential consumer. i get this lady's point, but she got annoying after two minutes.
she's right to a degree, but i don't think wale's worthy of as much hate as she's sending. i think he deserves the benefit of doubt, especially considering his past output that deals w/ issues like this (shades on his newest release, and a rack of songs on mixtape about nothing).
that said, i think wale (or wale's production team??!!) missed a big opportunity by not being more diverse in their casting...especially considering this is the single that's been getting the most push. if he really wants to have an everyman image that showcases how he isn't a stereotypical rapper (insert a million folks who only put light-skinned women in videos), he's gotta actually do the opposite...and do so in videos that are "mainstream."
I respect her mind, but I do not respect her way about voicing her opinions. Slim should have presented more than one example than just leaning on Wale. It very clear that she needes a PR Stunt to promote her upcoming project. She should have just hired a PR Person to work her project rather than making an outlandish video regarding Wale.
Joy Daily is obviously using this controversy to promote her website and upcoming documentary.
But she does raise some legitmate points. Wale has responded to this criticism saying he doesn't have control over the women in his videos. That's simply ridiculous. If only unattractive women showed up at the auditions would he have put them in the video? No, they would have continued to hold auditions until they got the women they wanted.
I LOVE MY BLACK WOMEN,ALWAYS WILL AND SHAWTY WENT A LITLE OVERBOARD ON THE WALE "PRETTYGIRLS" TOPIC A LITTLE MUCH..LOL,I THINK HER BOYFRIEND BROKE UP WITH HER FOR A WHITEGIRL."AND WHEN HE GET ON HE LEAVE YO ASS FOR A WHITE GIRL"-KANYE AND WALE DIDNT HANDPICK THOSE GIRLS...HE HAD NO CONTROL OVER IT...
I didn't see any black dark skin girls in her video either. lol
ReplyDeleteman "my sweetie" had a SHITLOAD of dark girls in it..it dont get no darker than Nigerians!!! lol people need to relax!
