Tabi - strong team behind him, grind and networking is off the hook, creative out the box mc, charismatic lyricist.
Wale - has earned the respect of his peers which is vital in my opinion has a tremendous buzz. I believe to quote the OY BOYZ it's on ONE WAY up.
Pro'verb - he is extremely witty, a great lyricist, confident and yet humble as can be. Also a geniunely good person.

ReplyDelete*all bs aside these dudes are over looked---arguably the most lyrically group I have heard out of DMV and the dudes perform well, I think there under the radar until you hear them and they actual brothers, whoa!
2. Dirty Water
*did I say slept on, Cool C & Joe D been doing for the city and stay releasing classic material, I love these dudes man google them
3. Ra the MC
* Shorty spit like a dude, I mean harder than most of yall dudes, I hope she battles someone from your top 5 so she can replace them on ya list
4. Substantial
* Is career stamps the fact that this is a hating ass city, how a bamma from the DMV tour Japan, get MTV run, sourc and XXL coverage but no love from DMV rap sites GTFOH alot of this shyt is bogus and politics, so even tho the DMV hip hop is advancing @ times it seems to be running in place
5. Diggz
* I got a stack that say your #1 bamma for 09 does not want to get on a stage with this dude...no xtra shyt just mic and a beat, homie is lyrical

I hope to see the entire nation familiarize itself with the DMV hip hop movement in '09. We have some obvious front-runners to help make this happen but I'm looking forward to the progress of:
