ABOUT ROD EXODUS:
Jahrod Coates (also known as Rod Exodus) is a singer/songwriter from the DMV area. He was born in San Diego, CA and raised in PG County, MD a small county right outside Washington, D.C. where he spent most of his childhood and teenage years. Jahrod started singing at the young age of 1. “I’ve been singing ever since I could talk,” Rod Exodus expressed, “Singing is all I know, I can't and won’t do nothing else but sing. Whenever I get the chance I sing!” He spent most of his childhood singing in the church choir and various groups. “Mom’s made sure I was in church." It wasn't until the age of 21 when Jahrod wrote his very first song entitled, “Steady Switchin.”

ABOUT THE TRACK:
He wrote a song that could be aimed at a larger audience entitled, “As Above So Below”. The song is about the love he has for a girl who he feels deserves something more than just a friendship. Throughout the song he references the things that made him fall in love and how the relationship could grow from just a friendship to a never ending love story.

West Baltimore native Ed Green starts his year off with visuals for his song "Thank God".
"Thank God" audio was released the summer of 2014 and made for a good song with a very catchy hook.
The video starts with various 93rd soul tribe members which is a Baltimore Collective that Ed Green is apart of.
Energy, Charisma and flow followed by swift punchlines makes this song stick out amongst other up and coming artists.
The video shows Ed at a shoot with his crew trying to perfect visuals which makes for a a cool perspective for the viewer.

@amberjinae - 5th Annual "Matters of the Heart" R&B Benefit


The "Matters of the Heart" R&B Benefit is an annual entertainment showcase that serves as a great date night near Valentine's Day and also raises funds for a local non-profit organization. 

The show, now in its fifth year, is produced by AmazingGrace Productions, a live events company started by Howard University alum Grace Salvant. The show is scheduled for Thursday, February 12 at the Howard Theatre. The lineup includes a combination of vocalists, instrumentalists, poets and comedians who are young alum of local institutions like the University of Maryland and Howard University. 

Every year the show sells out and raises at least $500 for its selected non-profit. Past recipients include: Kid Power DC, the DC Rape Crisis Center, the National Breast Cancer Coalition and Pediatric AIDS/HIV Care. This year’s beneficiary is Life Pieces to Masterpieces, a Washington, DC nonprofit that provides mentorship and programs to African American boys and young men in the city’s most difficult areas.
